A new survey of Coldwell Banker agents found that 75% said their clients were considering gas prices in choosing where to live. Of those, 89% said buyers were looking for homes closer to work and 45% said buyers wanted homes closer to shops and services.
The increase in gas prices may be boosting a trend toward urban living, as more homebuyers and renters seek to live in central cities and reject far-flung suburbs.

I opened this topic to see how far everyone commutes on a daily basis. My commute is about 6.5 miles each way at about 14-17 minutes per trip (avoiding the beltline). That puts me well below the 2010 average for our zip code (http://zipatlas.com/us/nc/rale…..e-time.htm) which is approximately 26.5 minutes.
Do you find that since moving to Renaissance Park your commute is shorter?

Yes, my commute is to NCSU Centennial campus and takes about 15 minutes on a bad day. It'd be a bikable commute if Tryon weren't so dangerous.
