I believe they are listening - I also believe it is a very complicated issue. The bushes have been cut and we are starting to see increased enforcement in the area. I don't know if any additional action has been taken at this time but I do know they are looking at the broader solution not the quick fix.

If we continue to press on them we will eventually get the answer we want. If we give up claiming they'll never do anything we'll be right - they never will.

I feel that the lack of access to pedestrians/cyclists is the best route to push a good answer for vehicles as well. I hope you will come to the open house and let the city employees know that you would like to see the area addressed.

Does anyone really believe the City will listen after the double talk they issued in reference to the problem with traffic entering Chapanoke from the Taco Bell shopping center? What a bunch of hot air. How hard is it to cut down bushes and start fining the idiots that stick out into traffic?

Thanks to Jason Miller, Brett Breitschwerdt, and Steve Amendum (with special assistance from Griffin)! We collected a total of 18 contractor size bags of trash total from the two entrances. The one area that concerned me was the Olympia Drive entrance. I estimate 75% of the trash was collected in this area and there was some trash deep in the trees that we weren’t able to get. Particularly concerning was the discovery of a full fledged camp deep in the trees directly across from the clubhouse. Hopefully we can get this addressed with the proper authorities and clean up the area for good.

My husband had the same type of meeting with a younger hispanic girl last week, during the day. She told him the line about school, he figured he could answer her questions. But, when her questions got into “was he home during the day” he shut the door and called the police.

I got the same type of person at my door last night around 9, but it was a girl. There have been a number of solicitors- magazine sales, meat van sales, etc.- all cons I am sure. Can the developer/HOA work with the local police to enforce a no solicitation policy?
Also, I wonder if someone can mention tonight the mess at the junction of Arpent Way and Tryon. Gas or water lines have been installed and now there are just cones and mud. Will the city/developer be cleaning this up anytime soon?
